The Parco Ducale is a splendid farmhouse immersed in the greenery of the Marche countryside just 1 km away from the centre of the small town of Urbino, centre for renaissance pottery.

Parco Ducale Country House has recently been renovated; a complete restoration that has rendered the building extremely welcoming and comfortable whilst respecting the tradition and the simplicity of the original architecture.

Parco Ducale Country House is made up of a main building dating back to the 1800’s and an out building that at one time was used for drying tobacco.

On the ground floor of the main building there is a reception and a small bar. A large lounge can be used by the guests on their return from the walks around the surrounding hillside or from the excursions to the nearby towns of Urbino, Pesaro, Fano, San Leo, Gubbio.

During the cooler evenings a fire can be lit and enjoyed whilst sipping a glass of wine and reading a good book on the comfortable sofa.

A short flight of steps from the lounge leads you up to a cosy loft area, where you can play cards or just have a chat.
Two floors up are the light and airy bedrooms: 6 double rooms and 5 1 bedroom apartments with kitchen area. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, television and mini bar.

Breakfast is served in the dining room: homemade cakes, croissant and cappuccino are guaranteed to get you off to a good start before dedicating a day to total relax or to an excursion to one of the many centres of Montefeltro.

Parco Ducale Country House is surrounded by a beautiful garden where children can play safely and enjoy the dedicated play area. Guests also have access to a private swimming pool with sunbeds and deckchairs for sunbathing and enjoying the sunny days.

The garden is very well looked after: the immaculate lawn and blossoming roses enhance the pleasure you get from relaxing in the shade of the mulberry tree which stands majestically in the middle of the garden right in front of the entrance to the
Parco Ducale Country House.
Directly in front of our farmhouse there is an incredibly charming building: the ‘Barco’, once the Duke of Urbino’s hunting lodge which dominates a large area of natural beauty.

The Barco di Casteldurante was a holiday residence for famous renaissance humanists and poets including Torquato Tasso and Ludovico Ariosto. The site is connected to the Palazzo Ducale di Urbania by a mile of water ways that knights and ladies travelled by boat. Towards the middle of 1700’s, it became a convent and was modifiedinside by the addition of a Saint John Baptist Church, in the Vanvitelli style.

The Barco was totally restored and can be visited by appointment, whilst at night you can admire it from your bedroom window.

The village of Urbania (the old Casteldurante) can be reached by foot in just a few minutes.
